This card has been absolutely destroyed. The main and co-main were the only two fights I actually wanted to see, both of which had to be removed from the event due to injuries. What you’re left with is a rather terrible card. Since this is a Fight Pass exclusive card, I guess it’s not expected to be that good anyways.
There was talk of a fight companion podcast for this event, but still nothing has been confirmed. I will update this post if/when I find out more.
Still, if you’re a die-hard UFC fan and you plan on watching this, I do have one suggestion for making this event a little more exciting: DraftKings! Yes, the exact same fantasy sports site that Joe and many other podcasts frequently promote.
There are actually a variety of different contests at DraftKings centered around tonight’s event. The one that pays out the most money is the MMA $20K Takedown. The contest is open to 840 people with $20,000 to be awarded. The person who finishes first takes home the biggest slice of the pie with hundreds of other people taking home something. There are over 20 different UFC Fight Night 76 contests open at DraftKings right now, so have a look through them all and toss your hat in the ring (or Octagon in this case) and see if you can win something.
If you’re new to DraftKings, use my link to sign up today and you’ll be able to enter the MMA $10K Haymaker for free. If you’re already a DraftKings member, it only costs $3 to enter. There’s a very good chance you’ll win at least your money back, so why not give it a try?
I have a DraftKings account, I have used it to enter fight contests, and it’s perfect for a card like this. When there aren’t that many exciting fights, putting something on the line and having a guy to root for really makes the whole event much more exhilarating since you have money invested. Sure, it’s only $3 (or nothing if you’re new) but it sure makes things fun!
