Guest Bio: Joe Perry is a guitar player, singer, songwriter, and co-founder of Aerosmith.

Topics Discussed: How he obtained Elvis’ gun; Elvis’ success; The Colonel; Frank Sinatra; his young life; Boston accent; Aerosmith beginnings; analog and digital media; leaving the band; getting the band back together; ear damage; guns and gun laws; anti-depressants; the economy; outsourcing; Ebola; viruses; TSA; Joe Perry and Steven Tyler’s bad knees; Menudo; fascination with the ocean; learning disabilities; education system and its problems; government; voting; Washington, DC; werewolf; cartoons and Disney; changing offensive cartoons; Disneyland hidden restaurant; Aerosmith touring; music piracy; music industry; record companies; calculated songwriting; writing process; doing what you want to do; Walk This Way; record labels making money; vinyl; farmers markets; replicating the “feel” of analog recording; cell phones; rejection of digital recording; HD ruining movies; rejecting technology; barbecue; restaurants.

My Thoughts: I’m not an Aerosmith fan but this was a good podcast. Joe Perry seems back a laid back guy without an agenda or something to promote. Perry and Rogan got along well and you can tell they like each other. Hopefully Perry comes back and digs deeper into Aerosmith’s early days with some touring stories and talk about his drug addiction.
